18’ CG Charles Pride Eclipses 1K Milestone

Going into this season, 6’4 2018 CG Charles Pride (Liverpool) had high expectations for his Liverpool Warriors. After having a successful run at Christian Brothers Academy, Pride’s family moved and felt it would be best for him to transfer to a school closer to their new home. Coming in with a reputation for being a “Mr. Do-it-all” type of player, Charles was looked upon early to contribute such intangibles. One of those intangibles included him providing a scoring spark, in which proved to be beneficial as he did so in route to eclipsing 1,000 career points and leading his team to winning the Section III Class AA Boys Basketball title. Pride also earned sectional MVP honors. Liverpool will gear up to make a run at a state title with Pride leading the way. This spring/summer Charles will be a huge catalyst on a super talented 17U Jayhawks squad. As he currently holds two Division 1 offers (Stonybrook & Iona), he will be in route to acquiring many more as the spring/summer roles along.

Cooperstown’s Finest Continues to raise the Bar

This season, thus far, has proven to be one for the record books for Cooperstown Central High School’s 6’3 2019 G Tyler Bertram. Entering the season, Tyler held a target on his back as one the premier players in NY state, regardless of class. Despite such added pressure, Tyler began the season on fire from all cylinders and hasn’t cooled off since. With approximately a month remaining in the season, he reached several huge milestones. The first milestone came in an 81-70 win against Oriskany High School where Tyler set the school’s new career 3pt record at 218 3’s (and counting). Bertram followed up by breaking the school’s career steals record (169 and counting), single season 3pt record (81 and counting) and the all-time scoring record (1,728 and counting). As his team continues to roll through sectional and state playoffs, he will be looking to add on to his extensive resume as a Hawkeye.
